BreakOut 2010

I'm just enquiring as to whether Youth Groups in the District are going to BreakOut 2010?  Whilst we enjoyed BreakOut 2008, we have decided that the cost to attend 2010 is just too much.  The minimum price per person, that I worked out, was £89, with transport costs on top of that.

For many of the families that expressed an interest in going, this was not considered too much of a "burden", what with fund raising to help bring this down.  However, for one family where money is "tight" and another where four members wished to go, it was felt that excluding people was "not right".  Our Church and Circuit do not have a great deal of "spare funds" to support youth work.

I have expressed my concerns to members of staff in the "Children and Youth" section at Methodist House.

So instead of going to BreakOut, we have arranged our only weekend away.  The costs for this were well within our fund raising and family contribution levels.

Has any other groups experienced the same concerns in how much attending BreakOut is now becoming and have they found ways in how to reduce this for those whishing to attend?
