As we journey together in Christ we find that we meet challenges and opportunities along the way. Our journey can take us in a number of different directions, sometimes we can feel fully equipped for all that lies ahead and at other times we can sense a need for equipping.
Training & Development is an essential part of equipping the whole people of God in their journeys together.
The BEH District works to provide suitable training and development opportunities to encourage and equipping the whole people of God in meeting the challenges that lie ahead and taking advantage of the opportunities as they arise.
Working within the Methodist South East Training Forum East Anglia and BEH Districts share training resource through the recent creation of regional Training Officers. The two Districts share the equivalent of a full time Training Officer working with a regional and District brief.
Ann Howlett-Foster and Richard Armiger work together as half-time Training Officers for the two Districts.
For more information on learning opportunities see: www.methodistlearning.org.uk
You are also welcome to provide information about any events you are organising or that you think members of the District would find helpful. To post information, contact Ann Howlett-Foster.

The role of District Development Enabler was introduced in September 2008 to enable Districts to focus on the Priorities of the Methodist Church and the areas within 'Our Calling'. Richard Armiger works half-time as District Development Enabler within the District.
Initially this work is focusing on reviewing the current Circuit structures and boundaries within the District in response to 'Mapping a Way Forward: Regrouping for Mission'.
There are currently a number of joint Circuit discussions in progress looking at the mission opportunities that could be created through larger Circuits as well as some of the practical benefits of pooling resources and re-thinking what it means to be a Circuit resourcing mission. As these discussions develop more information will become available through the website.
Other areas that fall under this role are individual Circuit Reviews and the DDE will be working with individual Circuits each year enabling them to evaluate where they are currently and look towards where they would like to be and work through challenges that they may face.
For more information on the development work within BEH please contact Richard Armiger.
