Circuit Stewards, Treasurers and Representatives who are unable to attend the Synod are asked to pass the Directory and the Agenda, and all other Synod papers, to the duly elected substitute.  (Spare copies are not available.)

The travelling expenses of the Ministerial and Lay Representatives shall be paid by their Circuit, if they so desire it. Travelling expenses for Supernumerary Ministers to Synod will be paid by the Synod Secretary from the District Expenses Fund.

Synod procedures and rules of debate are set out in SO 413. Notices of Motion must be submitted in writing to the Chair and Secretary at least fourteen days before the date of Synod. Only on matters of urgency and by express permission of the Synod may notices of motion be submitted during a session of the Synod.  (SO413(4))

All members of Synod should, when necessary, provide their own packed lunch; the host Circuit will provide drinks.

Circuits should provide badges for their Ministerial and Lay Representatives, indicating the name and Circuit in each case.

There will be a crèche available, if required, at both sessions of Synod.

A Collection for the Methodist Ministers’ Children’s Relief Association will be taken at each Spring Synod.

Superintendents should send a copy of their Circuit Plan and Directory every quarter to the Chair and at least once a year to the Synod Secretary.

Circuit Property and Finance Schedules must be considered at the Circuit Meeting.  Property forms should be forwarded to the District Property Secretary and the Standard Form of Accounts should be sent to the District Treasurer, no later than the 31st January.

Circuit Stewards are reminded that they are responsible for the reimbursement of Ministers’ official expenses on stationery, postage, and telephone in full.
