Methodist Women in Britain

Methodist Women in Britain aims to encourage, enable and equip women to participate fully in the life of the Church and in society through:

  • Training in specific skillsMWiB Logo
  • Conferences and events on issues and themes
  • Different styles of worship and ideas for worship
  • Campaigns in which women may be actively involved
  • Provision of information about other groups and resources
  • Mutual support through all of the above

In order to make a difference to the life of the Church, Methodist Women in Britain:

  • will encourage, by prayer, meditation and study, the strengthening of relationships, the sharing of experiences, and the building up of one another in faith;
  • will enable growth by the challenge of vision and stewardship, by enriching commitment, by receiving the insights of others, and by offering information and resources;
  • will equip women for mission, by deepening understanding, by recognising and linking gifts and needs;
  • will operate in a manner that is flexible, vibrant, transparent, creative and participative.
open-hands-and-space-to-grow-2The 2019-21 theme chosen by President Hilary Evans is 'Open Hands and Space to Grow'. She has a particular concern to raise awareness of trafficking issues during her two-year presidency, and will lead a workshop on this theme at the September 2019 Synod.
