Lay employment

Graham Danbury

I remind all Circuits and Churches that Standing Orders require that District approval is obtained before you can advertise any new position for a lay employee.

The process is simple, and I can usually deal with any requests for advice or approval within 24-48 hours.

Standing Orders also require me to keep a register of all lay employees in the District. For this to work, once you have made an appointment you need to send me a copy of the signed Statement of Terms and Conditions. This generally doesn't happen, and as an appointment will usually be made many months after I have given approval I have no easy way of following up the process.

Please feel free to contact me at an early stage with any queries relating to existing or proposed lay employment matters, by email or telephone - on either 01727 860740 or 07760 153458.
